If you have a soft spot for animals that are a bit different, then you’re in for a treat with this stray cat who is seeking a loving home. This adorable feline, known as Yoda cat, has become an internet sensation thanks to some heartwarming photos shared by a kind-hearted woman on social media.
Jana Aviles, a Veterinary Assistant from North Carolina, instantly fell in love with a cat she met while at work. The reason for her adoration is quite apparent – the cat’s ears stick out to the side instead of being on top of her head. This unique feature has earned her the nickname “Yoda” cat. However, some people also noticed that the cat bears a striking resemblance to Dobby the house elf from Harry Potter.
While working at the vet yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting a precious little kitten who was brought in by a rescue after being found injured as a stray. The kitten was so adorable that I simply couldn’t resist sharing her picture on social media and asking if anyone else had ever seen such a cutie before! The post received an overwhelming response, with more than 4,000 people sharing it and over 3,000 commenting. Many people were divided over whether the kitten resembled Dobby or Yoda from Star Wars. Some even referred to her as a “Baby Yoda Kitten,” while others felt that she resembled a housecat version of Dobby.
Another person mentioned Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, stating that the adorable feline deserves to be freed with a sock. Jana provided an update later on, expressing her surprise at the incredible response to the cat. She stated that there is only one Yoda cat and therefore only one suitable home for her. Many individuals have shown interest in adopting her and some have even offered to travel across the country or from different countries to do so.
In the United States alone, there are approximately 70 million stray cats wandering the streets. Shockingly, animal control facilities take in about 4 million cats each year, and a staggering 1.4 million of them are put to sleep annually because they lack homes. The writer urges everyone to visit their local shelters to find their new furry companion. While Yoda cat may appear fascinating, it’s essential to remember that appearances can be deceptive. Unfortunately, we don’t know which rescue center the feline is currently at or if someone has adopted her. Nevertheless, many other cats out there are still looking for their forever homes.
